We are conveniently located near Prince George’s Community College and University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center right off the 495 Beltway, and within easy reach of DC. Public transportation is readily available. It’s a simple, clean, and affordable stay—ideal for professionals or anyone needing a modest place to rest.

Welcome to Mariama House! This charming and modest home in Upper Marlboro is the perfect cozy spot for your stay. Your private room features a comfortable queen-sized bed, chair, dresser and nightstand. While staying at Mariama House, you’ll have shared access to your private bedroom and a shared bathroom. Please note that the dining room and kitchen are off limits to guests while being renovated until July of 2026. We’re located in a central spot close to D.C. and near public transport, making it easy to get around. This is a simple, comfortable space that offers a homey atmosphere for your visit.

We want you to have a comfortable stay, so here are a few important house rules and details: *No access to kitchen or common areas. Kitchen is under renovation until July 2026. Guests only have access to bedroom. *No Visitors Allowed: Only guests who are on the reservation are permitted in the home. There’s an additional guest fee of $10 per extra person on the reservation. *Quiet Hours: Quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m., so please keep noise to a minimum during these times. *Towels are available upon request with advance notice and for a linen fee of $8.

Upper Marlboro (Prince George’s County) — county seat and historic town center a short drive away. Area character: suburban residential streets, low-rise housing, some government and civic buildings in town, parks and walking trails countywide. Local conveniences (groceries, pharmacies, restaurants, banks) are clustered on the main corridors a few minutes’ drive; larger shopping and dining are found in nearby Largo, Bowie and Bowie/Route 301 corridors.

Guest Access

At Mariama House, you’ll have your own cozy room. Guests will share a bathroom. There is no kitchen access. The kitchen is off limits until its renovation is complete.

Didn't have any issues. Easy to get inside and the neighborhood was very peaceful and quiet. House was only 10 mins away from the Commander's stadium where me and my wife went to see Bruno Mars live which made this beautiful room very convenient for us. The room was very clean with a nice big smart tv. If Bruno ever comes back to the stadium again, I will most definitely be rebooking this room again. Thank you to Charity for being a wonderful and proactive host!

Commuter rail (MARC Penn Line) and Amtrak services are available at stations such as Bowie State or New Carrollton within a 10–20 minute drive depending on traffic.
